Become a Guide

We want to work with you!

Compass is now accepting guide applications for Fall 2017. Application period closes April 7, and interviews will be conducted April 15 and 16.

Apply today! Become a Compass guide!

UC Merced undergraduate students can serve as Compass guides to help solve one of the toughest problems in the Merced area and vulnerable communities all over the United States: Too many people do not have access to health care providers.

What can you do? University students throughout the country are helping. As part of programs like Compass, they help younger students explore and get excited about careers in health care. UC Merced students serve as Compass guides to students from local middle and high schools, and help them see the world of possibilities for careers in the health care field.

By serving as guides, UC Merced students are role models, showing younger students how to get where they want to be, whether it's college, graduate school or vocational training.

Compass guides are a great resource in our community!

Students who serve as Compass guides also build friendships with their peers, younger students and health care professionals in the community.
