Being a Compass guide means providing mentorship, inspiration and support for San Joaquin Valley youth. Through Compass, young students in the Merced area who are interested in health careers are given opportunities to make connections with leaders from the UC. Guides need to fully understand their roles and responsibilities so they can succeed in giving back to the community. Through this outreach program, guides from UC Merced will establish connections with outlying communities and act as role models for younger students.
